Connect in Your Community
Start an Advocacy Group
Many advocates find greater success and satisfaction in moving an issue by working with others in their community. Good Schools Pennsylvania invites you to organize a Public Education Advocacy Group among your friends, family, neighbors, parent group, community organization, youth group, or faith based community that is ready to learn more about this issue with your leadership.
Contact us for tips on starting a Public Education Advocacy Group.
Public Education Advocacy Groups may utilize our 7-unit Study and Action Guide to learn more about the complex issues surrounding school funding reform issues including: issues in public education, tax reform, standards, accountability, testing and assessment, and developing effective strategies for advocacy.
Good Schools Pennsylvania ensures that Public Education Advocacy Group leaders are well equipped to facilitate their meetings. Good Schools Pennsylvania offers each group leader an orientation to help prepare for a successful launch of the group.
At the orientation you will learn key facts about the state of public education in Pennsylvania and its effect on our children and their future. Good Schools Pennsylvania will provide you with an in-depth overview of our strategy, what your role will be, and how it fits into the big picture. At the orientation you will also receive a Good Schools Pennsylvania tool kit for all of your facilitation needs.
